Amirthavarshini - Sri Sampagodu S Vignarja

He walked in with grace, he is prolific singer , his songs are superb, and we are inspired by his renditions of great classical songs!
One of the most enchanting vocal renditions, I'd ever attended is "Amirthavarshini" by Sri Sampagodu S Vignaraja's carnatic vocal concert. This 2 hours vocal concert was held at TFA(Spore) on 21st, February in Singapore. Once again, I was swept away to another "loka" listening to his powerful, brilliant and reverberating vocal cord.

Each and every spew of his music notation out from his larynx, pierced deep into our earpiece drums. We're transfixed to his "bava". His mastery in rendering his songs were fantastic. He is verily a professional "music sculptor" indeed. He sculptures the vocal sounds to form mental visual musical shapes from the original great Indian carnatic music composers/singers and we could "view" all these in beautiful sound formations.

He has powerful vocal cord that could easily scale up and down all the octaves with ease and style. Gifted with an incredible energy level, his voice glides effortlessly as though like a feather floating soft and gently in blowing winds.

We thought 2 hours was not enough to quench our thirst. We in unison cajoled him for more and he obliged us and sang an extra half hour. What a day and a concert to remember for a long time.
Thank you so much for the concert and your live vocal music to us and we need more in the near future, perhaps in a larger concert hall...!!

Note : Sri Sampagodu S Viknarja is currently teaching in Temple Of Fine Arts, Kuala Lumpur

New Year with a Bang!!! CNY around the corner!!

It has been a wonderful new year start this year. I never thought that there are so many plans on hand need to be worked out and also some not so wonderful events happened recently. I had to grimace in pain on those occasions while learn to let go few others!!

A friend of mine husband met an accident and passed on. Attended the funeral and it was an awful feeling. No matter how many funerals are attended, each has its own life story. The sadness are overwhelming at times, in that no words can console at that moment of grief!!

Then, life goes and moves on. WOU enrolment to fulfill another paper chase had begun. Need to complete 14 papers with additional 2 projects before can be conferred a Master graduate. The battle has just started...first semester with 3 subjects to gulp!!

I could feel and soaked by showers of good hope rain. A little roller coaster ride of ill health last year had finally smoothed round this corner. Now, the key word is "buzi"!! Can't have any breather since end of January. 7 days aren't' enough..!!! Oh! Gosh!! Wait, I need a breaker, come this CNY holidays but then, it's not going to be in that direction at all....but I love..to be on the move...hapi holidays!!!

Carnatic vocal exam too is soo near, I could just start the panic button on!! Level kritis are challenging, plus the paper exam..I am getting fine doze of music hale..frantically trying to get into the brain as much as possible on all the musical notations..hundreds of them!!!

sa ri ga ma pa.......
