Purpose and perspective in life
Have you wondered how slow the pace of life we live in our childhood and then suddenly we felt hopeless when at an older age, time becomes faster for us to accomplish whatever goal we seek for?
The many activities that we used to wait and usually we count by numbers, like waiting the traffic light to turn green, we press the button so frantically, hoping that red light turn to green while the digital time lapse numbers ticks away. Wow! So slow, we would lament in between.
Consider the waiting time for the last bell or buzzer sound from the washing machine, so that we could unload for drying and move on to next house chores. The painstaking frozen time when queuing up in our usual public service departments or standing still in a long beeline in shopping complex to pay purchased items at the cash register counters.
Snail pace time when we start to countdown the clock minute’s hand towards the number 12 so that the clock ticks goes off in order for the prime time television news appears and listen to our favorite broadcaster.
We could see that how these have purposeful joy and in that time actually gives us a meaningful perspective to our lives. We could be so impatient with ourselves to catch-up with the speed of time we live in daily. I’d realized when we tried to be in a hurry, we may miss many of the real opportunities we could enjoy when things are done in a happier pace. I mean the finer points in doing them and getting a joyful end.
This eventually led to a conditioning of the mind to be serene and contended for that moment without cringing or complaining. As we understood quite clearly the purpose on why we do things/ activities as we wanted them to be, we set real goals and meaningful purposes for a healthy life.
Well, what can be said? We just savor the time and let it sink in our mind and be appreciative what life could offer and we live in that borrowed time that was given to us with a joy and wonderment. Hence, we have actually nothing to complaint about as this is a perfect package, rightfully presented to us.
Have a wonderful day! SMILE
